I was parked in a garage, i started my rav 4, put it in gear and gently, due to experience with acceleration problems, pressed the gas pedal. Toyota rav4, 2007, 2wd, 2.4ltr. Drove through deep water after torrential storms in upper ohio. Check engine , vsc, and traction control lights illuminated. Found the evap system charcoal canister filter hose broken off at the filter assembly. Water had filled up the charcoal canister as well as gravel and sand. In addition, the electrical module attached to the canister was filled with gravel, sand and water. *tr

Check engine light and vehicle stability control light came on. Strong smell of sulphur fumes filled the cabin since failure of the catalytic converter and charcoal canister. It was determined at the dealership that the charcoal canister failed and the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. So far has not been replaced due to parts out of stock and is scheduled to be repaired on sept. 24, 2004 under warranty.…
