2019 toyota rav4 hybrid, unable to fill up with fuel. With fuel light on and 30 miles of range vehicle only allows 8.8 gallons out of a 14.5 gallon tank. Causing loss of about 200 miles of range. Fuel gauge stays slightly below f even after trying to top off. Unsafe as we never know how much fuel we have and could end up stranded or overfilling.

Purchased 2019 toyota rav4 this november and i have an issue with the gas tank. It only fill 80% of the tank not completely full. When trying to fill manually to the full gauge the gas overflows and spills which creates gas spill on the side of the car and floor. This is an issue that toyota needs to address asap.

Fuel system does not hold the amount according to the manufactures specifications. This appears to cause the gas gauge to show incorrect, which could lead to running out of gas. Dealer said there was nothing they could do to fix the problem and that this was a toyota issue.

I can only get about 10 gallons in this 14.5 gallon tank. The gas pumps clicks off at 3/4 full. I bought this car for the advertised range of about 500-550 and it is no where near that. Toyota is well aware of the problem as there are hundreds of complaints online about this same problem. I do not understand how some cars have the problem and apparently some do not.

The gas tank will not fill up. If it is dead empty, the most we can get the tank to except is 10 gallons. The vehicle is suppose to except 14.5 gallons. Because of this issue, we are having to fill the tank up more often. The vehicle specs state it should get 507 miles per tank and we get around 400 miles per tank.

Purchased a new 2019 toyota rav4 hybrid awd xle on 10/24/19. Fuel capacity appears to be about 11 gallons, as opposed to the 14.5 gallons advertised. I have run the car down to below 10miles of range multiple times and get the same result. This 25% understatement of fuel capacity translates into roughly 100 miles less of total range than the advertised 537-595 miles of range. See attached pics.

When filling my gas tank the fuel system does the auto shut off before the fuel tank is full. The first few times i filled the new vehicle, i put the nozzle back in the pump thinking it was full, but when i started my car, the fuel gauge registered about 2-3 ticks below the full line, so maybe 7/8 full. I can't completely fill up my 2019 rav4 hybrid fuel tank. The fuel pump always stops way too early at around 11 gallons (estimation), even though the cars fuel tank fits 14.5 gallons. So i can only use around 80%-90% of my fuel tank capacity. Happens every time at every gas station. See attached picture.
